Arranged as an elongated checkered flag or game board with ghosted corporate logos as players, War and Ethics (2005) compares 3-year stock profiles between corporations heavily invested in military production versus investment funds that strive to build socially and environmentally responsible portfolios. Investment in war, unfortunately, produces better returns for shareholders.
Painted on commercial road maps, Game Plan (2006) locates the ‘x’, the focus of scrutiny, on Halifax as it relates to maps of Nova Scotia, the Maritimes and Atlantic Canada. Toying with binary opposites and games such as dominos and ‘Xs & Os’, Game Plan links innocent play with military signifiers where ‘Xs & Os’ also refers to crosshairs and scopes.
