Pressure Today
2006 installation view (with State Dinner)
Paper Maps, Red Head Gallery, Toronto, Ontario
Presented on business envelopes that previously contained bills, invoices and professional announcements, Pressure Today (2004 – 2008) collates the ‘pressure-full’ mail of the artist’s every-day life with the daily continental barometric pressure as mapped on the website of the Globe & Mail, Canada’s national newspaper. The result is a daily record of meteorological phenomenon superimposed over the idiosyncratic mapping of personal, professional, economic and social networks of the artist as manifested through postal systems.
